How to use these numbers
Use a row as a snapshot of one reported category within this survey cohort. Do not add rows across different sections: Steam reports them as separate distributions, not a combined inventory of matched PCs. Rounded percentages may not total 100%.
This page keeps Steam's published rounding. PC4U retrieved and verified the August 2026 survey on September 27, 2026. The source snapshot date is retained even when Steam publishes a later survey.

Steam Hardware & Software Survey, August 2026. The figures above are a dated snapshot of the entries published for that month. Use Steam's survey page to check the latest reporting period, and match the date when comparing numbers.
For build-budget planning, use the PC builder budget planner. It is a separate planning tool; this survey does not establish a budget split, component performance or product recommendation.
